New Medium Range vessel to Stena Bulk

Stena Bulk has named and taken delivery of Stena Consul, the second vessel in a series of four 47,400-dwt product carriers from Uljanik in Pula, Croatia. Sponsor was Elena Chirikova, wife of Andrej Chirikov, director of Sibneft. After the naming ceremony, the vessel sailed to the Black Sea. Stena Consul will be operated by StenTex, mainly in the Caribbean. The vessel series, originally ordered by Russian Novoship, represent a USD 130 million investment.


Another vessel currently being built by Uljanik for Gestioni Armatoriali will be taken on a five year charter by Stena Bulk. The vessel, named “Stena Italica”, is the third tanker of the same type chartered out by the Italian company to Stena Bulk on long-term contracts.
