We transport refined petroleum products and chemicals. The vessels have protectively coated tanks and are able to transport several different types of cargo simultaneously.
Stena Performance in Texas. The Stena P-MAX is specially designed for narrow and shallow waters. Double propellers and double rudders give the vessel better manoeuvrability than any MR or Panamax of conventional design.
Our product tankers are of two kinds: The Long Range 1 (LR1) of 70,000 dwt is the maximum size of a fully laden ship able to pass through the Panama Canal. The other type is the Medium Range (MR) of 40,000-50,000 dwt.
The Stena P-MAXs are Medium Range vessels specially designed to meet the growing challenges of transporting cargoes into sensitive areas. They can carry 30 % more cargo than traditional MR vessels and are considered extremely safe tankers.
