The first two C-MAX tankers were designed for the Caribbean clean-products trade, requiring vessels with improved transportation safety and cargo flexibility, which is in line with future requirements in other parts of the world as well.
The vessels are capable of carrying 17 separate grades of clean- and dirty-products fully segregated. All cargo tanks are smooth-sided and externally framed. In addition, two fully pressurized deck tanks are available for LPG cargoes (liquefied petroleum gas).
Safe navigation The bridge is equipped with a fully integrated co-pilot system. In addition, loading and discharging can be carried out from the bridge. The bridge is fully integrated, ECDIS certified and complies with the class requirements for one-man watch.
Azimuth thrusters Two Azimuths able to turn 360 degrees fully independently, in combination with a bow thruster, provide maximum manoeuvrability and redundancy.
Tank configuration All cargo tanks are fully epoxy-coated to enable charterers to operate the ship with a maximum of 17 cargo alternatives.
LPG tanks The two fully pressurised LPG tanks are designed to carry 1280 m3 each of LPG.
Flexible cargo operation The vessel is equipped with 17 manifolds to reduce turnaround time in port and provide charterers with flexible operation. Cargo piping on deck is made of stainless steel.
Bow thruster A powerful bow thruster, in addition to the Azimuth thrusters, gives the vessel extreme manoeuvrability in narrow waters.
