Kim Ullman joined Stena Bulk in 1983, shortly after the company was established, and has played a key role in its growth and operations.
After 17 years as Vice President, Kim was promoted in 2000 to President and CEO of StenTex LLC, a joint-venture company owned by Stena Bulk and Texaco at the time. During his tenure, the company developed considerably and established itself as solid provider of medium-sized tanker services in certain key geographical areas with fast growing market shares.
Kim first started his career with Atlantic Container Line (ACL) in 1975, a shipping company in the Broström group. Between 1981 and 1983, he worked as a chartering broker for Broström in Gothenburg and London.
As Senior Vice President and Chief Strategic Officer of Stena Bulk, he handles a wide range of tasks including full responsibility for the commercial side of the tanker business as well as liaising and coordinating all Stena Bulk offices worldwide.
"At Stena Bulk, we take pride in having a team approach to conducting business", he explains. "That means ensuring the right mix of individual authority and mutual dependency. For us, it's a combination that works - and works well."
Kim studied Economics with a special emphasis on marine transportation and holds a diploma from the Advanced Management Program of the Stockholm School of Economics.
